Joe Gafford made this image 3/10/08 UT at the EGK dark site.  Joe used his re-built 18" f4.5 JMI telescope with SBIG ST-2000XM CCD camera with the newer Kodak KAI-2020 CCD chip. 23/23/23/23 minute exposures with Astrodon LRGB filters. The 3-minute exposures were stacked for core detail. Joe's telescope was fitted with a new drive system with smoother operation and with new solid truss rod clips of Joe's and Jim Burr's design.
